AggieWorks Brand Design
Overview: Created a new visual brand system for AggieWorks, a student-run organization at UC Davis that builds digital products for fellow college students.
Timeline: June 2021-March 2022
Role: Graphic Design Director
Deliverables: Brand guidelines, social media templates
Tools: Adobe Illustrator
Initial Concepts
I previously worked with two other designers on the Marketing team to rebrand AggieWorks. However, we noticed several problems with this brand as we began making graphics under these guidelines. For instance, the primary colors we chose all had similar levels of saturation, making it difficult to pair colors together.
When Spring 2021 ended, I was promoted to the Graphic Design Director position and I decided to rebrand AggieWorks once again. My goal was to create an eye-catching brand that was both sleek and professional, yet fun and approachable, and unique to reflect our org's values and vision.
BRAND REFRESH
BRAND REFRESH
Our new brand is professional and eye-catching, yet playful and fun. The new color palette I chose has higher levels of contrast, which makes color pairing for graphics much easier.
This brand is still in progress; with new graphic designers joining our team, there will be different design styles and ideas to continue maintaining a fresh look to our brand.
Overall, this brand revamp gave us a new look while expressing our values even better than before, and offers more creative freedom to our graphic designers.
